Toto is an American rock band formed in 1977. Members include Steve Lukather, David Paich, Joseph Williams, and John Pierce. They are joined by Robert “Sput” Searight, Dominique “Xavier” Taplin, Warren Ham, and Steve Maggiora, who also plays the keyboards. Toto is best known for their album Axis and Erasure. The group’s music is rooted in progressive rock and has an energetic and diverse live show.
Toto’s lineup consists of five members: guitarist Steve Porcaro, bassist David Paich, drummer Simon Phillips, and drummer Joseph Williams. Currently, the band’s lineup features Nathan East as a guest musician. In 2008, Toto announced that Steve Lukather would be leaving the band. The remaining members of the band later broke up. While Toto hasn’t had a successful tour in years, the band’s music still continues to be an important part of the rock scene.
Toto reunited in the summer of 2010 for a brief tour in Europe. The tour was to raise funds for the ailing Mike Porcaro. The band member was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and is no longer active. The group’s reunion in 2011 was a success and Toto’s fans were happy with the reformed Toto. They also released an audiobook in English, “The Wizard of Oz as told by a dog”.
The Muppets portrayed Toto in The Wizard of Oz, and Pepe the King Prawn portrayed the character in Oz Kids. A recent VeggieTales episode is named Toto. In the Sci-Fi Channel miniseries Tin Man, Toto starred Blu Mankuma as the shape-shifting human who escaped from a box of magic. The Toto soundtrack is a timeless classic, and a Toto bathroom is the perfect choice for any home.
In the summer of 2010, Toto reformed. They went on a short European tour, but the tour was to raise money for Mike Porcaro, who has ALS (a neurodegenerative disease). Since they’re no longer active, he is recovering and is in a wheelchair. However, the band reformed again in 2012, despite Porcaro’s illness, remains an inspiration for all Toto fans.
In 1917, Kazuchika Okura launched the Toto company in Tokyo. Toto’s name was first pronounced to be “toe-toe.” The name is a homophone of the word “toe-toe” and was first used in the first edition of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz in 1900. Several other versions of the story have adapted Toto toilets, including the movie The Wiz and the Return to Oz.
Toto’s dual-flush feature allows you to conserve water. A dual-flush model uses 1.2 to 1.6 gallons per flush. This means that you don’t need to empty the tank every time you use the toilet. This prevents clogging in the toilet. It’s easy to clean and maintain, too. A few years later, Ayako Otoshi and her husband decided to install a Toto washlet in their new apartment in Brooklyn.
