When playing a poker game, players keep track of various details such as cards that are revealed and concealed, whether a bet has been placed, when it was placed, who placed the bet and so on. One of the main ways in which poker players can differentiate themselves from each other is by knowing what kind of ante they have raised. Another way of distinguishing oneself from another player at the table is by figuring out the best hand that can be played against that player. In most poker variations, a player is best placed when he has got the best hand – the strongest hand – and is able to follow it with a good strategy. This is because it is usually very difficult to beat a player when he has the best hand; there must exist some kind of trick that the player is hiding in order to extract the pot. For instance, in a seven-card game, a player needs to have a flush, and if he has the best hand, then that hand becomes trumped by another player.

A hand is called “flush” when all of the cards in the pot are worth seven points or more. Thus, a flush is a hand where all cards are valued at seven points, including the cards which are not yet turned up in the pot. The player with the best strategy gets to take the pot.

Different Ranks There are different ranks of poker hands. When a hand is raised to a certain rank, then that hand will be considered as “better” than all the other hands. That is because it represents a strength which is much greater than all the rest of the hands. Therefore, players who have raised to the top hand will generally receive better chips than the players who have not raised to this high rank.
