Splenda and Freezer Jam

Your tip for May 2, 2006 - SPLENDA AND FREEZER JAM

For all the subscribers who asked about using Splenda for freezing or sugar-free jams: The National Center for Home Food Preservation at theUniversity of Georgia says that Splenda does not preserve the color or texture the way sugar does. So while the berries will taste sweet, they will lose their redness and get mushy. Sorry!
