National Chocolate Caramels Day - March 19th

March 19th is National Chocolate Caramel Day
here's a recipe to help you celebrate... ENJOY!!!


Cream Chocolate Caramels

Ingredients:

8oz sugar
1 cup molasses
1 cup whipping cream
1 tablespoon butter
4oz Baker's Chocolate

Directions:

Mix together in a heavy saucepan sugar, molasses, thick cream, butter, baker's chocloate. Heat on medium temperature and stir until the mixture boils.

Cook until a few drops of it will harden if dropped into ice-water; then pour into well-buttered pans, having the mixture about three-fourths of an inch deep. When nearly cold, mark into squares.

It will take almost an hour to boil this in a heavy saucepan, Stir frequently while boiling.
The caramels must be put in a very cold place to harden.
